Water Corporation has recently informed the Shire that it will no longer guarantee the potability (suitability for drinking) of water supplied from the Koolyanobbing standpipe.
While Water Corporation has advised that the existing water treatment infrastructure will remain in place at this time, the infrastructure will no longer be maintained to the same standard that has historically been provided.
As a result, the Shire of Yilgarn will shortly install signage at the Koolyanobbing standpipe advising that untreated water should not be consumed by people or animals.
For more information about water testing and treatment, you can call the Department of Health directly on 9222 6409.
