The Shire of Yilgarn invites applications for the position of Trainee Customer Service Officer.

The primary responsibilities of the position are:

  • initial point of contact to the public;
  • providing tourism information;
  • receipting monies;
  • Transport Licencing Transactions (Training provided after probationary period completed)
  • providing secretarial and word processing services;
  • actively engaging in multi-skilling development program with other Administration staff

 

The Traineeship will be an initial 12-month contract with the possibility of permanent employment at the conclusion of the traineeship. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will commence employment in early January 2022.

Students who are about to complete or have completed Year 10 and above are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will undertake a Certificate III in Business through on-the-job training.

The Trainee will be required to perform duties at the Shire Administration Office.

GENERAL HAND – PARKS AND GARDENS

 

Council is seeking the services of a self-motivated person with relevant experience for the position of Parks and Gardens General Hand. The primary responsibilities of the position is maintaining the Shire’s parks, gardens and reserves, including the operation of mechanical equipment such as ride-on mowers, whipper snippers, light tip truck and chemical spraying equipment. The applicant must have a minimum MR manual drivers licence.

The position operates out of the works depot located in Arcturus Street, Southern Cross under the supervision of Council’s Works Supervisor. Further information relating to this position can be obtained by contacting Council’s Executive Manager for Infrastructure on 0409 791 135.

Council operates under an Employees Collective Agreement. This Full Time position is based on a Level 5 commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary and conditions are as follows:

  • Hourly rate of $28.58 (New agreement pending further increase)
  • Up to 17.5% superannuation
  • Four weeks annual leave and annual leave loading
  • Uniform supplied
