Local Government Elections 2017

Local government ordinary elections are held on the third Saturday in October every two years. Elections will be held on 21 October 2017.


Councillors are elected for terms of four years. Elections are held every two years for half of the council, and candidates are elected using the first-past-the-post voting system. 


The nomination period to become a candidate in the 2017 Shire of Yilgarn elections opens on Thursday 7 September 2017 and closes on Thursday 14 September 2017 at 4.00pm.
